Terlingua Retreats
Inspiration, Time and Space
Terlingua Retreats is currently closed due to the global pandemic but when we are able to reopen we are excited to be offering one scholarship space for a Texas writer to stay for 2 weeks.
The ethos of Terlingua Retreats is to give you the time and space to devote to your writing in an inspiring landscape. The property caters for up to four writers at a time and the retreat is facilitated by our stable of mentors, all of whom are published writers with years of teaching experience. They are here to offer professional guidance on your project, whether it be a novel, short stories, poetry, flash fiction, play/screenwriting or life writing.

Editorial one-to-ones and peer review critiquing sessions
Gather in the evenings to talk with fellow writers about your work or sign up to private mentoring sessions when needed.

Big spaces free the mind
We can arrange hikes and boat trips into the Big Bend National Park and the Big Bend State Park, a therapeutic massage or a bike ride on those days you need a break from the desk.

In-house chef
On certain evenings our in-house chef will cook a literary-themed dinner. A continental breakfast is provided and a lunch hamper is left at the door of each writer every day.
Prices and Dates 2021
To be announced once travel resumes normally. We hope to be back up and running in October 2021 once the majority of vaccination programs have been rolled out. Please don’t hesitate to contact Mary-Jane in the meantime at Terlinguaretreats@gmail.com
